5 spooktacular ideas for unforgettable fun at Fairthorne Manor this October half term

1) Spooky Canoe Adventure

Dare to embark on a creepy canoe trip? Follow the YMCA Phantom Paddler down the tidal River Hamble in south Hampshire. Beware of spooky shipwrecks in the murky water and ghoulish surprises along your journey. Includes a warming hot chocolate and tasty biscuits along the route.

Who: Ages 4+ (children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult)

2) Spooky Trail

Step into a ‘Scary Tale’ adventure through the woodlands of Fairthorne Manor and see if you can spot all the scarecrows dressed as familiar eerie characters. Pick up your trail pack from reception and return after completing the tasks to receive your treat (or trick!)

Time: The self-guided trail is open from 10am-4pm and will take 45-60 minutes.

Tickets: £7 per family

3) Campfire and S’mores

Enjoy the popular treat the traditional way over your own fire with your family and friends. S’mores pack and hot chocolate included from the café.

What you’ll need to bring: Camping chairs and a blanket

When: Saturday 22nd – Sunday 30th, 2pm-4pm

4) Autumn Daycamps

Give your child the best school holiday ever this October half term at YMCA Daycamps Fairthorne Manor where children aged 5-16 thrive, make new friends, and become inspired through active outdoors fun! Book by the day or come for the week and try a variety of exhilarating and exciting adventures in the fresh air.

Join in on the spooky spirit on Friday 28th by dressing up in your most monstrous costume!

When: Monday 24th-Friday 28th

Standard Day: £35, 9am-4pm

5) Frightful Treats & Daring Activities

YMCA Café Fairthorne Manor will be open serving hot pizzas (whether you want to make them peculiar by adding pineapple on top we will leave that up to you…) and spooky treats throughout half term.

Whilst enjoying a hot drink, you can wander down to the Jumpy Pillow to bounce off the energy from that pizza, have a go at Axe Throwing, or get splashing on the River Hamble with a range of craft hire options.

Jumpy Pillow – open 22nd, 23rd, 29th, and 30th , 10am-4pm. Suitable for all ages. £1.50 for 5min.

Axe Throwing – open 22nd – 30th, 10am-4pm. Ages 10+. £3 for 3 goes.
