We have no doubt that you will have heard this evening’s announcement from the Prime Minister that schools and childcare settings will close for most children on Friday 20th March for an indefinite period. This will have a major impact on all of us and as you can imagine we are keen to understand the implications of the finer detail. At this stage, we have no additional information than was released in the earlier statement, but I can assure you that the senior team at YMCA Fairthorne Group will be working hard to understand the situation and in particular the arrangements for key workers and the most vulnerable children. We are certainly ready and able to do whatever is asked of us to support this important groups of families.
This is clearly a difficult time for you as parents and carers and I am sure you will have a number of questions. I would be very grateful if you allowed us a little time to work out the implications of this announcement; we aim to have answers as early as possible tomorrow including issues relating to fees which I do not expect to be charged for those unable to attend. We will send a further communication via email as soon as possible. All of our childcare settings will be open as usual on Thursday and Friday of this week.
