We often get asked what is the difference between the YMCA Fairthorne Group and other YMCA’s across the UK. Well each YMCA in England and Wales is an individual, self-governing charity that affiliates to the National Council. Through this affiliation, YMCAs become part of the World Alliance of YMCAs. As part of the worldwide movement, we help more than 58 million people in 119 difference countries. If you would like to learn more about the international YMCA please visit their website.

Locally the YMCA Fairthorne Group is a local community charity, delivering services to over 40,000 children, young people and families across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Built on a social enterprise model, all income we generate goes directly back into funding our local community projects and initiatives, from supported housing to vulnerable 16-25 year-olds, to our renowned annual Young Carers Festival.
