Give your child the very best start in life
Located in the grounds of Bancroft Primary School, your child will access a wide range of activities with our exceptional staff team, enabling them to learn and develop through play.
The pre-school benefits from a dedicated garden, offering your child a fantastic environment for exploration and new experiences. The pre-school fully embraces active and outdoor play, with each day bringing a different adventure. Access to the school’s large field, park, forest, and library means your child can choose where they want to play and learn.
"Everyone at the YMCA is so child-centred and I really can’t recommend them enough. I am thankful everyday knowing my child feels happy, safe and excited to be at YMCA."

Barn Owls Pre-School

Your child will experience opportunities to explore, discover and develop in a happy, safe, and secure environment and will be looked after by an experienced and caring team.
All children are encouraged to explore the interest areas inside and outside, no matter the weather. With activities including messy play, sand, water, mud kitchens, and small world areas there will be daily opportunities to express their creativity and development. Your child will lead their own learning with the support of knowledgeable, and skilled professionals.
Our spacious and stimulating indoor space, coupled with a dedicated garden area, enables children to benefit from a mixture of child and adult-led activities that enhance their learning and help them achieve their next steps.
As your child grows, they’ll spend time developing their confidence, independence, and social skills, getting ready for school. Outside they’ll climb, run, balance, jump, and splash. In the garden, they’ll problem solve, take risks, share ideas, develop their language, and have imaginative adventures.
To ensure your child thrives in their early years, we believe in working closely with parents/carers to help your child learn through play.
