Free training and support for YMCA parents and carers throughout the Covid-19 period
As part of the YMCA Fairthorne Group’s ongoing support of our families through these challenging times, we would like to share with you our Educare online training resource. Educare is one of the many ways that we provide professional development to all of our staff and volunteers and a great potential resource for parents. We currently have access to 42 accredited courses of 1-5 hours duration. Many of the programmes focus on how we can better support the wellbeing of children and young people, including some that would be useful at this time:
- Promoting Positive Behaviour
- Mental wellbeing in children and young people
- Online Safety
- First Aid essentials
- Dealing with Bereavement and Loss
- Adverse Childhood Experiences
There are even specialist course on subjects such as ADHD, Autism and Dyslexia. As well as giving you some useful tools to support your family, Educare may also be beneficial for those facing future employment insecurity. These courses are all professionally recognised and can boost your CV.
How it works
We would need to register you on our YMCA Educare portal. We would need the following;
- The email address that you would like to use
- Your full name – how you would like it to appear on your certificates
- Please let us know which of our settings your child attends
If more than one parent would like access, then we would need a separate email address for each parent.
A member of the YMCA team will securely input these details on our Educare portal; Educare will then send you an email link and password. If this is not received in 24 hours, please check your spam mail. In line with GDPR regulations, Educare will not share your email address with any third parties and may send you an occasional email about your courses. You will have access to all the courses that our staff regularly complete and you can choose which are the most beneficial to you. There is no cost, no strings attached, but just a great opportunity to share our resources at this time. To register on the portal, please email you details to [email protected]
