Using my Senses! (Smell)

What you’ll need;

  • Pineapple
  • Eggs (Optional)
  • Milk
  • A Tray

Method

This is a baby friendly edible sensory activity so babies can learn about different smells whilst probably not stimulating the other senses. Letting the baby explore with their hands with freedom knowing that everything they are touching can be safely eaten.

Prepare the Pineapple, removing all the spiky outside and cutting it down into chunks or rings, up to you.

Using the eggs and milk, make scrambled eggs. Whisk the eggs and add a dash of milk then microwave for approximately one and a half minutes.

Spread the pineapple out on one side of the tray and the scrambled egg on the other side

Enjoy! Let your baby explore contrasting smells such as the sweetness of the pineapple and the savoury of the egg. This activity is open for you to experiment with different foods and different smells!
