Here’s how to play the Traffic Lights game with your child.

First, cut three large circles out of paper or card and colour one red, one orange and one green. Use them to play the traffic lights game.

• Hold up the RED circle: “Stand still like a statue”
• Hold up the ORANGE circle: “Get ready …”
• Hold up the GREEN circle: “Go  – jump around the room!”

When children can play this game well, you could try making written signs for STOP and GO

It’s a great way to burn off some energy, have fun and learn about colour and what happens next.
