Sharing New Year Resolutions

Have you made a New Year’s Resolution? Perhaps it’s to pursue your dream or developing a positive habit; possibly spending more time with your family, changing a habit, volunteering in your community, switching your career or many people choose January as the time to join (or re-join!) the gym?

A YouGov poll showed that 2018’s more popular resolutions were:

  1. Eat better
  2. Exercise more
  3. Spend less money
  4. Self- care (e.g. get more sleep)
  5. Read more books
  6. Learn a new skill
  7. Get a new job
  8. Make new friends
  9. Get a new hobby
  10. Focus more on appearance

The start of a new year is always a good time to reflect on your achievements from the past year but also to plan for the coming year. It is also good to remember that you do not have it altogether straightaway. There may have been things that you didn’t achieve last year but this can just mean you have to make it an even greater priority for this year.

We’ve been speaking to our teams across the YMCA Fairthorne Group to find out their goals, aims and aspirations for the New Year:

Our organisational resolution is to listen more … so, tell us what you want from your YMCA. Please email us: [email protected]

Are you ready to make some positive resolutions? Whatever you choose, we wish you the best of luck for 2019 …
