Job Purpose:
The Buildings Co-ordinator is responsible for co-ordinating and ensuring maintenance support for all buildings and operational related tasks on site. The role ensures all buildings are safe and fit for purpose for the benefit of its users from across the community including children, young people and families, ensuring all work is carried out sympathetically in line with the historical value of the site.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- To create the annual buildings plan in liaison with the Head of Operations and ensure delivery of the plan.
- To support the Head of Operations in identifying and planning buildings projects.
- To plan, organise and lead the delivery of building tasks, ensuring tasks are completed to appropriate budget, standards and timescale.
- The day to day maintenance of the Fairthorne Manor site buildings and roadways, ensuring faults and issues are addressed quickly and efficiently to a high standard minimising the impact on end users.
- Management of woodchip boiler, including regular maintenance.
- Maintaining the site fire plan and ensuring relevant training for staff.
- Ensure relevant training of staff on, and compliance with, health and safety on appropriate buildings and maintenance equipment.
- To provide supervision of any on site contractors where appropriate, ensuring all work is carried our safely and efficiently.
- To be accountable for ensuring the maintenance, safety, storage and logging of the organisation’s tools and equipment.
- To order required equipment and resources where appropriate in line with budgetary guidelines.
- To ensure all relevant paperwork and logging is maintained accurately and on time.
- To support the wider Fairthorne team, including the Estates Co-Ordinator, in basic repairs and maintenance in any other areas where appropriate.
- To support the Manager to ensure all risk assessments, operating procedures and COSHH are appropriately maintained.
- Organise and provide buildings support for events throughout the year.
Person Specification & Key Competencies
Qualifications/Experience
Essential:
- Proven experience in building maintenance.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a recognised building trade.
- Awareness of health and safety (training will be given) / risk assessments
Desirable:
- No less than 2 years’ experience in management
- Knowledge of health and safety and ability to complete risk assessments (or willingness to train).
- First Aid
Skills / Abilities:
- As this post involves considerable manual handling duties, the post holder have completed some form of Manual Handling Training.
- An Awareness of Child Protection (training will be given)
- Knowledge of Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations
- Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation
- Hold a valid driving licence
- A “can do” attitude
