Outdoor education residential centres have now been unable to welcome overnight trips from schools and groups for over 7 months. As a consequence, over 5,000 children have missed the chance to make Fairthorne memories to last a lifetime. The latest lockdown will inevitably delay a firm decision on a return, but in the meantime the outdoor industry needs a clear roadmap for the return of school trips and financial support to ensure that centres survive and children can enjoy the benefits of the outdoors.
