Job Purpose:

The successful post holder will support and deliver excellent customer service at the Fairthorne Manor public campsite to both campers and day visitors, ensuring that all visits to site are of the highest quality.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To welcome and serve visitors and customers in our reception with a welcoming, courteous and efficient manner.
  • Manage the sales, bookings, and administration for a variety of programmes, including camping, family activities & community access.
  • To handle enquiries (Phone, email and in person) and pass to the appropriate person as required.
  • To ensure the campsite grounds remain clean and tidy, including site inspections, litter picking and emptying interior bins.
  • Ensure the provision and cleaning of items for hire to customers, including barbecues and fire pits.
  • To ensure the campsite building, wash block and other rooms are maintained to the required standard (training will be provided).
  • Serve visitors items from our small shop and bar/café.
  • To ensure the café remains stocked and well maintained.
  • Cash up and secure the reception building at the end of your shift.
  • Work mainly unsupervised with a high level of organisation.
  • To report any maintenance requirements to the appropriate supervisor
  • Complete the daily opening and closing checklist.

Person Specification & Key Competencies:

Skills and abilities

  • An appreciation of, and ability to deliver, excellent customer care.
  • Ability to work both alone and as part of a team. You will work mainly unsupervised and require high levels of organisation and adaptability.
  • Presentable and articulate.
  • Willingness to undertake planned and adapt to unexpected tasks.
  • Work using your own initiative.
  • Flexibility, with the ability to work weekends and weekdays.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • Previous experience of working in a customer care or hospitality industry.
  • Cash handling experience.
  • A working knowledge of Licensing law, Food Safety and Health & Safety
  • Food Hygiene / Health and Safety qualifications are desirable, but not essential, as full training will be given.
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • A ‘can do’ attitude

Desirable:

  • First aid qualification
  • Experience of working in a catering or bar environment
