Give your child the very best start in life
Situated on the secure site of Sharps Copse Primary School in West Leigh, Havant, your child will experience a fun and stimulating environment for their learning and development.
This bright and homely nursery has large rooms with dedicated outside enclosed areas for your child to explore. Your child will access a wide range of activities with our exceptional staff team, enabling them to learn and develop through play with a focus on the outdoors. The nursery fully embraces active and outdoor play with each day bringing a new adventure.
All children’s meals are prepared fresh daily so we can ensure your child enjoys healthy, tasty, and nutritious meals.
"Everyone at the YMCA is so child-centred and I really can’t recommend them enough. I am thankful everyday knowing my child feels happy, safe and excited to be at YMCA."
Your child will want lots of opportunities to be physically active and to build on their growing confidence and independence. They will learn about their environment through play, discovering how fast they can move, how to co-ordinate and developing their imagination.
Our welcoming indoor space provides opportunities for children to thrive and develop as well as gain further independence. The garden area allows for children to refine their gross motor skills and develop their fine motor skills even further
Throughout their time in the toddler room, your child will have new experiences every day, getting involved in messy activities and being both active and social with our wide variety of role-play opportunities.
As your child grows, they will have daily opportunities to develop confidence, independence, and social skills. They’ll climb, run, balance, jump, splash, mark make, explore books, and make dens. Outside, they’ll learn to problem solve, take risks, share ideas, develop language, and have imaginative adventures. The vast garden is full of wonders, including a woodland area, growing patches, and a playground with access to large physical equipment and a range of trikes and scooters.
Your child will want to take that next step into independence and resilience, taking ownership of their space. They will learn new things and revisit their previous experiences to aid their development. We spend time developing their confidence, independence, and social skills, getting ready for school. The staff team has developed strong links with local schools and will support you and your child in the transition.
