Job Title: Facilities Manager
Location: YMCA Winchester House, Sandown Road, Shanklin, PO37 6HU
Company Description:
YMCA Winchester House is a YMCA community branch located in Shanklin, Isle of Wight. Programmes provided include school and group residentials, school holiday activities, support for young carers and housing for families at risk of homelessness.
Community organisations regularly use the building for programme delivery, including training, Men’s Sheds and Food Bank.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain systems for maintenance for all YMCA buildings and grounds, including planned and reactive maintenance, line managing and deploying staff and volunteers, and appointing and overseeing contractors.
- Establish and maintain systems for cleaning of building, grounds, equipment and laundry, including ensuring cleaning specifications are adhered to, line managing and deploying staff and volunteers, and appointing and overseeing contractors.
- Establish and maintain system for repairs, maintenance and cleaning that puts the needs of children and families first.
- Be the point of contact for residential and day customers, through delivery, to post-visit follow up, working in partnership with the Catering
- Ensure all customers have the best possible visitor experience that meets their
- Maintain sufficient stocks of supplies items to enable work to be carried out without
- Undertake routine health and safety compliance checks, including fire systems and water safety systems, ensuring records of checks are kept up to date for monitoring, reporting and regulatory purposes.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience of housekeeping and maintenance in a similar environment, including line managing staff.
- Previous experience of customer
- Knowledge of general building and grounds maintenance and
- Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and practices, ideally with IOSH or NEBOSH
- A good level of computer
- A valid First Aid at Work qualification is desirable (training will be given).
