At YMCA Fairthorne Group, looking after our people is just as important as the work we do every day for the communities we serve. That’s why we partner with specialist wellbeing providers to ensure staff have access to practical support for both their physical and mental health.

Two of the services available to colleagues are Westfield Health and Wisdom, both designed to make it easier to access support when you need it most.

Everyday Healthcare Support with Westfield

Through Westfield Health Cashplan, staff can claim money back towards the cost of essential healthcare. The scheme is available to permanent, interim and seasonal staff, regardless of age or contracted hours.

Health cash plans are designed to help with the everyday costs that many people face throughout the year – from routine healthcare to services that support your overall wellbeing. For many colleagues, it can be a simple way to reduce the cost of healthcare that they would already be paying for.

For zero-hours staff, the Healthy Extras programme also provides access to a wellbeing portal that includes gym membership discounts and leisure or retail rewards.

If you’re already registered with Westfield, you can manage your cover through the online portal or the My Westfield app, making it easy to check your cover and submit claims.

Support When Life Gets Challenging

Alongside physical wellbeing support, staff also have access to Wisdom, a digital wellbeing platform designed to help you stay mentally healthy and resilient.

The app provides tools and resources to support both everyday wellbeing and more challenging moments, including:

  • 24/7 confidential support, with counsellors available through live chat, video call or phone
  • Mood tracking, helping you understand patterns in your wellbeing
  • Four-week health plans focused on goals such as sleep, nutrition or managing stress
  • Mini health checks and breathing exercises designed to help you pause and reset during busy days

Wisdom also connects to a wider support service where trained professionals are available at any time of day or night if you need someone to talk to.

Whether you’re dealing with stress, navigating personal challenges, or simply looking for ways to improve your overall wellbeing, the service is there to support you.

Taking a Moment to Look After Yourself

As we reach the end of the financial year, it’s a good time to remind ourselves that support is available, and that taking care of your wellbeing is just as important as the work we do each day.

These services are here to support you, whether you need practical help with healthcare costs, tools to improve your wellbeing, or someone to talk to when things feel difficult.

If you’d like to know more about how these services work or how to access them, please speak to the Wellbeing Team or your HR representative.

Because at YMCA Fairthorne Group, your wellbeing matters.
