Paws and Reflect – Discover new woodland walks with your furry friend!

 

If you’re searching for beautiful, peaceful scenery and wondering where to walk your dog at the same time, then Fairthorne is the place for you!

We are excited to welcome your four-legged friends for on-lead walks across the Family Park woodland area starting in February.

Discover a tranquil space where you can get close to nature with your dog beside you every step of the way through the woodland paths.

Your four-legged friend will enjoy exploring new sights, sounds and smells while you enjoy a view of the wonderful Hamble River and local landscape.

Before heading home, pop by the Family Park Cafe to enjoy a range of drinks, snacks or a delicious homemade cake. Open from 9 am to 4 pm every day.

Canine Code

 

  • Dogs must remain on a lead at all times – see map for dog boundary area.
  • To protect plants and wildlife, please only walk your dog on the designated routes.
  • Please be a responsible owner and clear up after your dog. Waste bins are provided at the Family Park Café area.
  • Assistance dogs are welcome across the entire site.
  • Dogs are not permitted to enter the outdoor play spaces or any buildings.
  • Please ensure your dog doesn’t run up to other people – especially children.
  • Please do not leave dogs unattended at any time.
  • YMCA Fairthorne reserves the right to refuse entry to, or remove, any dog thought to be dangerous to visitors, staff, wildlife, or other dogs.
  • Dogs may be excluded from site during large scale events – follow us on social media for the latest updates

Everything you need to know about dog walking at Fairthorne Manor

At YMCA Fairthorne Manor we strive to be as inclusive as possible and want to ensure visitors get the most out of their visit. By welcoming dogs to the site, we hope people who may not have been able to visit previously may now enjoy our beautiful landscape with their four-legged friends. Please note, dogs are not allowed during certain events.
Dogs are welcome every day, please check our website for opening times. Please note, dogs cannot attend certain events such as YCF. Please check the relevant event webpage for more details.
Please check out our map for designated dog boundary paths and keep an eye out for signs for areas that are dog-free.
YCF, Daycamps, workshops and events that take place in dog-free areas will not be open to dogs. Please check the event webpage for more information.
The Family Park Café will be a dog-free zone along with all indoor areas at Fairthorne Manor.
We understand concerns with potential dog waste and ask all visitors bringing a dog to pick up any waste, and there will be waste bins provided. All visitors arriving with a dog will be given access to a map outlining the location of dog waste bins.
Please call our Duty Manager as your first point of contact on 07880 710903 who will try to locate the owner.
Our canine code outlines that dogs should not be left unattended anywhere on site, including the car park. Staff will be carrying out regular checks to ensure this code is upheld.
The areas where dogs are allowed are not in the areas used for school or Daycamp visits. Dogs should always remain on leads and under control and ask visitors to keep their dogs from running or jumping up at anyone, including children.
