Every year at YMCA Fairthorne Group, we welcome close to 1000 Young Carers from across the UK to Fairthorne Manor for the Young Carers Festival. YCF is a unique event dedicated to celebrating, supporting and empowering young people who take on caring responsibilities within their families. For many, it is a chance to connect with others who share similar experiences, and to create memories and build relationships that can have a lasting positive impact. Ahead of its 27th year, we are calling for support to help us shape the festival.

As we begin planning, we want to ensure that the festival continues to be reflective of the needs, interests, and aspirations of the Young Carers who attend. Most importantly, we are looking at ways to make the festival more accessible than ever, so even more Young Carers have the chance to attend this life changing event.

Find out how you can help

In order to make the festival more accessible, we are seeking support from individuals and businesses who want to help in creating joy, fun, and memories that having a lasting impact on Young Carers.

Director of Youth Services, Josh Towers says

“We are determined to make sure no Young Carer is left behind in 2027. The festival is a huge operation, and the more support we have, whether that be volunteering or monetary, means we can support even more Young Carers in attending the festival.”

Support can happen in a number of ways. You can find out how you can support here, or by emailing fundraising@ymca-fg.org.
