Accommodation

Ben's House

Set within the old walled garden of the Manor House, Ben’s House is a purpose built, single storey block for up to 84 people across 3 wings. Each 4 bedded bunk room has it’s own sink and access to shared bathroom facilities; leaders enjoy twin ensuite rooms, a leaders’ lounge on each wing, tea and coffee facilities and wifi throughout.

Heald House

A comfortable 88 bed, 3 storey block accommodating guests in 2, 3, 4 and 6 bunk bedded rooms. Two twin ensuite leaders’ rooms on two of the floors and two leaders' rooms with shared bathroom. Each rooms includes a sink. Rooms are located around a central meeting area on each floor, with free wifi and tea and coffee making facilities for leaders.

Camping

Our pre-erected 6 and 8 person tents all have wooden floors and pitched in 4 tent villages. Each village benefits from a communal marquee with lighting, chairs, fridge and tea/coffee making facilities for leaders. Toilet and showers facilities are available a very short walk from each village.

Catering

Full Board

All residential stays are full-board with our healthy, nutritious meals all cooked inhouse by our catering team. Served in our purpose built spacious dining hall, we can cater for all dietary requirements and allergens. Our catering team are happy to discuss any specific requirements for your group in advance of your trip.

Dedicated & Qualified Team

Our dedicated team enhance any visit with their flexible and friendly approach. All staff undergo thorough recruitment checks, including DBS and reference checks. Our activity instructors are trained and inducted on site, and externally assessed where required for the relevant National Governing Body. Delivery staff are trained in first aid, safeguarding, engagement, child behaviour management and are committed to ensuring a safe and enriching environment. Each year, our high-quality delivery staff team is complemented by overseas volunteers, which we truly believe enhances the Fairthorne experience.

Peace of Mind

Fairthorne Manor is a Hampshire County Council-approved activity centre and we hold an Adventurous Activities Licensing Authority licence for relevant activities. For high ropes and paddlesports activities, we utilise the services of external Technical Advisors to ensure best practices, including staff ratios, risk assessment analysis and Continued Professional Development. Our activities, equipment and staff undergo regular monitoring and supervision in line with our risk management procedures. YMCA Fairthorne Manor has a public liability insurance cover for up to £10 million and all buildings have been risk assessed for fire safety.

 Each of our instructor led activities runs for 90 minutes in set activity times.
Our set times are 09:30 - 11:00, 11:15 - 12:45, 13:45 - 15:15 and 15:30 from Spring to Autumn and 30 mins earlier in the winter.
Yes, we offer an evening activity for residential groups during the week including wide games, sports and games, campfire and a disco.
