Fareham College Visit

27 February 2026

This week we had the pleasure of welcoming Early Years students from Fareham College for an inspiring and insightful visit to our setting.

The day gave students the opportunity to explore a live Early Years environment, meet members of our experienced team, and have honest conversations about what a career in Early Years really looks like. From understanding the day-to-day realities to exploring the impact practitioners have on children and families, it was fantastic to see such curiosity, enthusiasm, and thoughtful questions from the group.

At the heart of our work is a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves the best start in life. That belief drives everything we do in Early Years — from the environments we create to the people we invest in. Supporting and inspiring the next generation of practitioners is a vital part of delivering that vision.

Experiences like this are incredibly important for the future of the Early Years sector. At a time when the profession is evolving and growing, creating meaningful pathways for young people to step into the sector is essential. By opening our doors and sharing real experiences, we can help demystify the role and build confidence in those considering it as a career.

More importantly, these opportunities align closely with our wider mission: helping young people thrive. That doesn’t stop with the children we support every day — it also means nurturing the next generation of practitioners, leaders, and role models who will shape the future of Early Years.

Bringing young people with fresh ideas, positive energy, and diverse perspectives into the profession strengthens the entire sector. Their creativity and passion help build more inclusive, responsive environments where both children and educators can flourish.

Vikki Kennesion, Early Years Director, reflected on the importance of visits like this:

“Creating opportunities for young people to experience Early Years in a real and authentic way is so important. When students can step into a setting, meet practitioners, and see the impact the role has on children’s lives, it brings the profession to life.

We believe every child deserves the best start in life, and that starts with passionate, skilled practitioners. Supporting the next generation into Early Years is vital — their energy, ideas, and commitment will shape the future of the sector, and we’re proud to play a part in that journey.”

We’re incredibly grateful to Fareham College for partnering with us and to our wonderful Early Years team for sharing their time, knowledge, and passion so generously.

If we want a strong, resilient Early Years sector, we must continue to invest in experiences that connect education with real-world practice. By creating these moments of inspiration and connection, we can help shape a future where young people not only thrive — but go on to help others do the same.
