April is Stress Awareness Month, and this year’s theme #BeTheChange emphasises personal agency, action, and transformation, encouraging individuals to pause, reflect and take control of their stress. Building on 2025’s theme of #LeadWithLove, this year’s theme aims to inspire individuals to move from awareness to taking practical steps for stress management.

Stress affects us all in different ways, and taking small, proactive steps can make a meaningful difference to both our mental and physical health.

The primary aims of Stress Awareness Month are to increase understanding of stress:

  • What it is and where it comes from, and how it affects our minds, bodies, and everyday lives.
  • How to empower ourselves with practical tools, strategies to manage stress and support mental health and wellbeing.
  • Helps to create open conversations and normalise stress, breaking down any stigma around mental health.
  • Provides opportunity to offer guidance and resources to help support individuals.

Throughout April, we encourage you to prioritise small acts of self‑care such as taking a walk, talking to someone you trust, trying a breathing exercise or other relaxations techniques.
