Every summer, YMCA Fairthorne Manor hosts the largest festival in the world for young people with a caring responsibility at home.
Created in 2000 and run in partnership with The Children’s Society, the weekend provides opportunities for young people to enjoy a break from their responsibilities, have fun, make new friends and have their voices heard on issues that affect them. Consultation with young carers has resulted in two changes in legislation to help support their needs and those of their families.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the festival sadly did not run in June 2020 as planned. We were really disappointed we weren’t able to welcome young carers at a time when they are really in need of support. However, we are sure that you can appreciate that the health and wellbeing of everyone involved is of paramount importance.
Please keep your eyes on this website and our social media pages for updates regarding our 2021 festival.
Our bookings pack is full of useful information, but if there’s something you can’t find or would to discuss, contact us on 01489 785228 or email@example.com.
The festival content is aimed at young people currently in secondary education, aged from 11-16 years.
