Childcare vouchers are a salary sacrifice scheme, whereby employees may ‘sacrifice’ part of their pay in exchange for Childcare Vouchers, to save money on tax and National Insurance Contributions. The childcare vouchers can then be used to pay for registered childcare. Although this scheme stopped for new applicants in October 2018, those who were in the scheme prior to this date may still be receiving vouchers. It is not possible to receive both Tax-free childcare and Childcare vouchers.
YMCA accepts childcare vouchers from the companies listed here. If you leave the Childcare Voucher scheme, you can start to use the Tax-Free Childcare scheme.
